Packing....does anyone like this?!

So.....because I got laid off and I was barely working for my old boss....I was stuck packing up our whole apartment. Which was NOT fun. Probably also didn't help that I am one of the biggest procrastinators in the world. This process also annoyed me so much that I took NO photos.....go figure...so not like me. So we lived with tons of boxes for a while....I desperately tried to do all the laundry we had (failed) and also trying to catch up on projects I have been neglecting (some fail)

Besides the sadness of leaving my good friends....I was also extremely sad to give away my fishies...okay I know your gonna think i'm silly but I loved these fish. they are hardcore and awesome and made me so freaking happy....and I just was so sad to let them go...but they never would have made the journey to NY...so as a mommy I had to do what was best for them. So Luke found a friend to adopt them...and give them a nice home.

They have a new family and a new home and I think they are happy. but I miss them a lot.

So....our close friends came by to help us finish packing, load the Uhaul and then clean our place. They are amazing and we def couldn't have done it without them.

We even formed a "cult" haha. I love my friends.

This is what our cat this of our "do not pack" pile. sigh she is crazy. apparently everyone stopped to watch her climb the mountain. It was good to have such awesome friends to help and hang and eat pizza and drink beer with.

So up next....the drive.

Peace out Chicago

So...we had a goodbye party at my favorite bar Rainbo.

Its the bar where I had my first legal drink (with the one and only Jackie) and its the bar that I always go back to when I want a drink, or wanna chat with someone. So I thought it was appropriate to have our goodbye party at that bar.

So....its kind of funny having a goodbye party...because you really see who is really going to miss you...and who is important. For better or for worse it comes out when people show up for you, cancel plans, go out of their way because they really will miss you. While my side of the party was significantly smaller then Luke's, I found that my side was filled with some real, true and forever friends. So it was perfect.

 

It was a good night. Its rare that I even go to bars so....its crazy to pretty much open a bar (8pm) and then close it. but it was a good night and sad to say goodbye to everyone. 

2 months of silence

Okay so I have had two months of silence....which sucks and goes totally against my resolution. BOO me. Well I do have an excuse I guess. (at least for one of those months) but I am ending it now. Hopefully keeping this promise to myself.

So the last 2 months have been filled with packing (too much), driving across the country, unpacking, setting up house and then finding a job.

I'll leave you with this. Our saying goodbye to Chicago museums, Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. It was sad but we had a good day.


So the next week or so will be filled with catch up and letting you know what has been going on. Coming up.....the move, Christmas in February, Our new place, New Job, and just some stuff about being back home <3
