So 2 weeks ago (really!?! I waited this long...?) I took a day off work...which was suppose to be to go to Six Flags with some friends but the last minute they bailed. So we ended up at the Brookfield Zoo. Last time we went was off season so there was sooooo much that wasn't there last time. We had a great time. Including feeding Sting Rays, Dolphin show and a Carousel ride.
Luke is feeding the sting rays!! They were soooo cute and kept jumping up on my arm. I loved them. here he is humoring me
so...one of my favorite animals is a hippo. I named her Patty. She was totally adorable.
I rode the Sloth bear...he was awesome. I love him
That was our day at the Zoo. Its one of my favorite things to do. All though....there was no Armadillo!!! I was very upset. by this and last time we went to Lincoln Park he was hiding....
Back in Chicago. Blah. The only part of it I like it being back with Luke. other than that BLAH. I am so done with Chicago its not even funny. We are here til January the earliest though so I need to make the most of it. I am looking forward to going pumpkin picking and our wedding photos but I think thats about it. School starts tomorrow.....I don't know how I feel about that. probably more blah with some blah on top of that. I still have a billion things I want to get done. that I don't know if they ever will.
This weekend I went to Long Island for my Sister-in-law's baby shower (my brother's wife). These are some things I made for him. I also shot all the photos...which means thats another thing I need to do...edit them all!!!
Other than that I have been desperately trying to finish my bouquet. I can see the light. I am finishing up. did more roses last night...and watched true blood. Why is this this the show I feel like watching while making my flowers? I don't know but its either that or ER.....blood+ wedding flowers? wtf Jenn.
This is what I made this morning because my metal one has finally died after 3 years of use.
Oh on a happy not moaning note. I officially changed my name. DMV Check. Bank Check. Netflixs check. i'm sure I have a billion more but thats all right now.
I am going to try and catch myself up so that I am not like 2 weeks behind what we are doing. haha i'm sure this will not happen because i'm going back to school but we will see.

-Clean whole house (i'm so sick of being too tired, or hot too do this and its driving me NUTS) -Finish Bouquet (neeeeeeeeeed to do this) -start Halloween Capes -Edit baby shower photos(if I actually finish this i could get a free Shutterfly book done, but thats ends TOMORROW, geez Jenn you suck)
BTW this stupid computer at work is draining my patience. It is 2x as worse as the first piece of crap computer and is so slow it has frozen 4x while I have typed this post. Isn't typing like the easiest thing for a computer? add one more it just did it again! as if it knew I was talking about it. evil.
So I am going away this weekend for my sister-in-law's baby shower. So I won't have time for posts unless I get inspired and use my phone. So early photo of the week. I would have done a renaissance fair but o suck and forgot til this morning. So next week I will post zoo and fair photos.

anyone who has been to the Magic Kingdom and seen the morning show understand the feeling of this song...it makes me happy and emotional. Why? don't know. but I love it. When it comes on my radio at work I just want to stop everything, ignore all phones and just be happy. It also makes me sad that I won’t be back there for over 9 months!!! (I guess at least it isn’t 2 years or something like last time) SIGGGHHH.
I want to be the family that opens the show more than anything!
So....my baby was shipped (my beautiful film scanner) then UPS missed me by 2 mins and I had to wait til Monday. Because I was on a search for some presents for someone....I got home at 5 instead of 4. My package is magically GONE. like GONE GONE GONE. Gate open. UPS slip gone and a "Delivered" tag on my tracking number. Well I freaked and called UPS only to be told that I have to call Amazon because they aren't allowed to help me (WTF?) After way way way too long on the phone they tell me I have to wait 6 business days just in case my package magically returns (again....WTF?) Then because of the shipping option I choose I can have a free replacement (who knew I choose the secure one? I didn't..) So I got off the phone feeling a little annoyed but much better. I can still get my baby...just a little later.
Then I got a phone call from lost prevention UPS. She said she is worried that someone is watching packaging being delivered to our house?! I got off the phone thinking nothing of it and then slowly I started freaking out. Is there someone watching our house? Are they going to break in? What should I do? Of course all this happens while Luke is at work and does not answer his text messages on his break. It was insanely difficult for me to go to sleep and I am still terrified for my apartment. I've never had the feeling I was being watched until yesterday. its really really scary. Especially when your husband is at work and your alone in a big house with a cat. (who loves making noises and scaring me more!!) I didn't ever feel this way in Brooklyn.....and we lived in a bad neighborhood. but our family based neighborhood is where I have to be worried?
Luke's 30th birthday was over a month ago...but I didn't actually use this blog until recently soooo....I never got to post his cake anywhere. so being that I have nothing to do at work. and...I have forgotten to upload the Zoo pictures and haven't had time to upload yesterdays pictures....which I will soon hopefully I will post these.
I love making Luke strange cakes. they are fun. This guy is made out of cup cakes That is all. I wonder if anyone actually reads this.
Today I am really antsy. And I have no idea why and its driving me crazy. It MIGHT have something to do with the fact that me and Luke went to a show last night and I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep......maybe

My boss is home sick today....so its super quiet at work.
Here is a project I worked on for our wedding photo shoot. I think it will make for some cute pictures We went to the Brookfield Zoo on Tuesday. This is the picture I will leave you with I told Luke this was like us....he was grossed out by this comment. But its true that just like monkeys we tend to groom our mates.

Just got approval from the husband to buy the film scanner I have been eyeing for over a year now. So excited. Will post pictures when my new baby arrives!
Monday...the weekend flies by and I am left on Monday totally confused where it went. At least this time I didn't have to spend it alone. I got my Luke all to myself! I love our adventures and they mean so much to me. We were suppose to go to the Chicago Botanical Gardens like we did last year.

So Luke worked all day. So when I came home I was on a super crafty mode. Mainly because I have been really lots of Cakies lately. Which inspires me. I worked on flowers today for the fabric bouquet I am making for our Wedding Photoshoot in September. They take forever....but I think I will really be happy with it when i'm done. This was me for the last like 5 hours. My slow process is coming along. I still have a while to go and I need to figure out the stems. hmmmmm... Then I decided to dye my hair because it needed it (still currently dying) then I will roll my hair in curlers so I do not have to worry about it tomorrow morning for...

our first weekend day together since our honeymoon! yay! We wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens...but forecast is rain and we might need to rethink this. But as long as we do something out of this house together I will be totally happy. Adventures with Luke are my fave!
So.....these arrived today. I really don't like winter....especially Chicago winters. but what I hate more is sweating. Lots of sweating. I don't like the heat. So I am happy to think about wearing these....and not dying of heat anymore. Even though....I don't really want winter these make up for it cos they are super cute. Thank you mom for my early birthday present

Okay sooo....I started this blog a little backwards. so I am going to give a little background for those who don't know me. Me: Jennifer, originally from Long Island, NY but currently residing in Chicago, IL while I painfully draw out my education. I just married my best friend and the greatest man i've ever met in June, Luke.....who I am sure will pop up in this from time to time. I'm an artist, craftster and complete nerd. I read an insane amount, mostly because of hours spent on public transportation, and I watch too many movies/tv shows so there is always something on during my projects. I will pretty much read or watch anything. (suggestions are my favorite!)
Okay so for a little while I want to get the stuff I have worked on.....out there...whatever that may mean. soooooo.....cos I am currently at work I will post the stuff I have with me.

These were our favors. The cd was a mix of songs that went through the years of dating ending with the wedding. I drew the cover art and I reprinted an excerpt from my comic book 'Swimming with Whales'.
Our wedding invitation. This was a project that nearly killed me....haha. So the cover is an etching and each is hand printed. Then there are some of the graphics from the inside. This was our Program okay sooooooo thats what I have right now. baby steps Jenn...baby steps..
Okay so this morning I woke up and I decided I didn't like the title of my old blog. too formal. I think that everything is a little too miss matched. SO sticking with shippedtosea for everything makes me feel a lot better.
saying all that I need to actually DO what I say I'm going to do. Really I need to stay up for 48 hours and get everything finished and then start new and fresh with new ideas. is this going to happen? no. so I just need to get things done. I feel like I'll spend hours doing things and nothing gets done. its driving me CRAZY.
Saying all this....I am started Photo(s) of the week.....I would love to do photo of the day but lets face it....I can't even get to posting the photos of my current work...how am I really going to post a photo of the day? (something to shoot for!) So I am planning to do this every friday (day might change when I actually start and see what days are best!)
Besides the fact that i'm so bored at work i have developed a headache....I really don't have much going on right now....but i'll babble about projects for a while in hopes that the clock will hit 3:00pm very soon....
I feel lately that I have so many projects that no matter how many hours I spend on them I barely put a dent in them.
Yesterday I worked on graphics for the website, more fabric flowers for the bouquet, wedding scrapbook and then editing the endless photos of our wedding. Yet.....there is still so many many hours of work to do.
I need to finish the photos because mothers are getting very impatient and I will never hear the end i'm sure if I wait much longer....(so close!!) once they are edited I will need to force myself to at least do the mother blurb books so they will be happy. Luke needs to decide which Thank you card photos he likes best so that our guests don't think we are jerks.
other than those time sensitive issues...the other projects have time. I reaaaaaaaally want to finish the graphics soon though so I can actually make use of my website....this will also require me to photograph all my work. I am hoping the lighting in my apartment will be okay or I will have to drag everything to school to photograph in one of the crit spaces....this I do not want to do. so......lets hope I can manage good lighting at home.
I really wish I had unlimited energy...I feel like I will never catch up on all their is to do. I really want to be doing something crazy for summer...but its not like many people are around it would seem. If I was in NY that would be very different. I want to swim in the ocean....but I would gladly take the lake or pool....just need someone to go with.
so I guess this is my super boring not saying much post. hopefully soon I will photograph things....and have real updates. maybe once the pile of photo editing disappears (will that EVER happen? doubtful...)
Oh and to top off my bad mood....Luke is at work til the end of time. I won't see him for real til Wednesday. WTF? I need a vacation......or maybe a move. Do you think anyone will notice if I moved into Cinderella's castle?
