Long Drive Home

So early on Saturday morning we got up from our futon bed, drugged our cat, scarfed down some dunkin donuts and hit the road. We listened to show tones, paramore, spice girls and pretty much anything that was happy and sing-a-long-y. The first day was rather uneventful but once the sun started to go down we realized that U-Haul didn't give us a truck with dash board lights. Fucking awesome. We really wanted to get to Pennsylvania to sleep but once we realized the lights didn't work that was not going to happen. I had to use the lights from trucks that passed me (because I was going really slow)  to see how fast I was going!!!! So I freaked out for an hour until we stopped at a hotel. We order food at the hotel and I passed out super early. The next day bright and early we left (waiting for the sun to come up....) I knew this day would be super long because we had only gotten to somewhere in Ohio the day before...
Yeah....that's a lake

So at about 3...we hit this huge bumper to bumper traffic for an HOUR. Then all we saw was a guy passed out in his car. wtf!?! This was the point where I started to loose my mind.  By this time we realized we would not make it to NY by our estimated 6:30 time (my mommy was making us dinner!!) which also meant....it would be dark. We hit Jersey just as it was getting dark. Went over the George Washington and Throgs Neck Bridge.....which probably would have been pretty if I wasn't terrified by the cranky commuters. The like 30 mins trip from the bridge to to the LIE was the worst drive i've ever had....UGH. We finally got to my mom's house at about 7:30...where there was chicken Parmeasan (fake for me!) and spaghetti. I then refused to drive the next day because I was angry at the Uhaul. HA!

So like anyone moving into a new place..

We dropped some money and signed our lease.....preparing for the headache of a move the next day.
